# Dental Implants in Keshav Puram, New Delhi

> A dental implant is a small titanium post placed in the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth. Once the bone has bonded to it, a natural-looking crown is fixed on top. Dr. Sneha checks your gums, bone and general health first to see whether an implant suits you.

- Stages: 2: placement, then crown
- Healing: About 3 to 6 months
- Pain: Fully numbed
- Consultation: From ₹100

## Who it is for

An implant may be right for you if:

- You have one or more missing teeth
- You want a fixed tooth that does not rely on neighbouring teeth
- Your gums are healthy
- You have enough jawbone, or are willing to consider bone grafting
- You are 18 or older, with jaw growth complete

**Good to know**

- Smoking slows healing and raises the risk of failure
- Diabetes should be well controlled
- Untreated gum disease must be treated first

## What happens, step by step

1. **Consultation and X-ray.** Dr. Sneha examines the area and checks the bone with an X-ray to plan the implant.
2. **Placing the implant.** Under local anaesthesia, the gum is opened and the implant post is placed in the jawbone. The gum is closed with a few stitches.
3. **Healing.** Over the next few months the bone grows around the implant and holds it firmly.
4. **Abutment and impression.** A small connector is fitted on the implant and a scan or impression is taken for the crown.
5. **Fitting the crown.** The final crown is fixed on the implant, matched to your other teeth.

## How long it takes

- 2 stages: placement, then the crown
- 3 to 6 months: of healing in between, often
- Lasting: implants can last decades with care

Healing time varies with your bone and general health. Dr. Sneha gives you a personal timeline at the planning visit.

## Is it painful?

Painless treatment is how we work. The area is fully numbed with local anaesthesia before we begin, so you feel pressure, not pain. Dr. Sneha explains each step before she starts. Mild discomfort and swelling for a few days afterwards is normal and usually settles within a week.

## Aftercare

- Eat soft food for the first few days and chew on the other side.
- Use a cold pack on the cheek on the first day to reduce swelling.
- Do not smoke; it slows healing.
- Keep the area clean as advised, and brush and floss around the implant like a natural tooth.

Call the clinic if you have bleeding that will not stop, fever, pus, increasing swelling, or the implant feels loose.

## Cost

The cost depends on the number of implants, whether bone grafting is needed, and the type of crown. Dr. Sneha confirms it at the planning visit, before treatment begins.

Consultation from ₹100.

## Questions about implants

**Am I suitable for an implant?**

Most healthy adults with enough jawbone are. Smoking, uncontrolled diabetes and untreated gum disease can affect healing, so Dr. Sneha checks these first.

**How long does the whole process take?**

Usually a few months, because the bone needs time to bond to the implant before the crown is fitted. Your exact timeline depends on your bone and health.

**Does getting an implant hurt?**

The procedure is done under local anaesthesia, so you should not feel pain. Mild soreness for a few days afterwards is normal.

**How long do implants last?**

The implant itself can last decades with good care. The crown on top may need replacing after many years.

**Implant or bridge: which is better?**

An implant does not involve the neighbouring teeth, while a bridge needs them to be crowned. Dr. Sneha will explain which suits your case.
